In April of 1980, they moved to California . P apa drove truck for various enterprises in the Glenn County area . Mama kept the home fires burning through good times and challenging times . Then came the move to Arizona and the beginning of their golden years .
These happy years found them available for service in church mission outreaches. Their first assignment was in Rochester, Minnesota . Later they spent a term in Anaheim, California . It was during these years that our mama enjoyed her only new house , built in the state of Tennessee. Bu t she was willing to leave the new house behind and spend more mission time at Renton, Washington State . During this time their friendship touched many lives . From Washington State they moved to Halstead, Kansas , to be together with their youngest son and his family.
From Kansas they moved back to Wisconsin, where they were also together with their youngest son and other relatives . Then their eldest son called them back to California . They were happy to live across the road from their daughter.
The Covid 19 pandemic struck, and Papa was called home to the B eyond . She was so lonely, but she found companionship with her similarly bereaved friends, with whom she bonded amazingly well . Her children are so thankful for her steadfastness in the church.
