Carla Jean Alban passed away on September 8, 2026. She was 91 years old. She was born on Sept 1st, 1935 to John and Marie Menough in Boone, Iowa. She was the oldest of six children.

Carla was raised and attended school in Boone, Iowa. When she was a sophomore in high school, she was introduced by a mutual friend to her one and only, Ron Alban. She graduated high school in 1953 and she married the love of her life on May 21, 1954.

While living in Iowa, they had two children, Greg and Sherry. In 1956 they packed up their family and moved across the country to Orland, CA. They went on to have three more children, Brian, Randy and Brenda.

Carla worked at the Orland Free Library until she retired. She was known for her beautiful smile and friendliness. She also always had a strong faith and was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Artois. She loved to garden, sew, craft, bake, play cards, go to the Opera and was an avid reader. However, what she loved most was RVing with her one and only to all their favorite places. Carla’s love for her family was beyond measure. Her husband, children and grandchildren were her pride and joy.

Carla is preceded in death by her parents, John and Marie Menough, her husband, Ron Alban, two sons, Greg and Randy Alban, a son-in-law, Craig Myers, her sisters, Judy Menough and Karen Cunningham, and her brother, Ron Menough. She leaves behind three Children, Sherry Myers (Craig), Brian Alban (Melody), Brenda Alban, 13 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, and two brothers, Gerry and John Menough. We would like to thank Windsor Chico Creek for taking wonderful care of our mother and grandmother. At this time, services are private and under the direction of Sweet-Olsen Family Mortuary.
