Obituary

Carlos Charles Galvan January 14, 1960 - March 6, 2022.

Carlos Charles Galvan was born to Angelita and Robert Galvan, the fourth child of six children. He attended Orland High School and was an outstanding athlete, excelling in both football and wrestling and was the recipient of many awards between the two. Carlos married his lifelong love and partner, Sondra, on August 4, 1984. Together they raised two sons, Nick and Darron, also excellent athletes. His love of sports was a great asset as he coached Nick and Darron, and hundreds of others, in football, wrestling and baseball.

In 2004, Carlos accepted the challenge of owning a business when he and Sondra became proprietors of Andy's Butcher Block in Orland, California. Under his ownership the shop moved to a bigger, stand-alone location and has continued to thrive. Carlos is famous throughout the North State for his tri-tip barbecue which he prepared every Friday for eighteen years. Andy's Butcher Block sandwiches are well-known, but most famous are the Friday Tri-Tip Specials.

Carlos always shared his fun-loving way of living, loving to be with his family more than anything else. When his granddaughters Kenzie and Kylee were born, he was bursting with pride, joy and love. Carlos also loved hunting, fishing, and most any outdoor activity. Recently with his son Nick, his love for woodworking was reignited and they created new masterpieces made of wood. Carlos always enjoyed spending time with his many friends and his family.

Carlos is survived by his beloved Wife Sondra Galvan, Son Nick Galvan (Shayla) of Orland, Granddaughters Kenzie of Orland, Kylee of Orland, Brother Edgar Galvan (Mary) of Orland, Sister Martha Osby of Chico, Brother Abraham (Abe) Galvan of Chico, Sister- In-Law Jackie Kaps of Deer Park, WA,  Rosie (Steve) Vance of Chico, many Nieces, and Nephews.
