Carol E. Vivion.

Carol was born in Orland, CA to Ernest "Shorty" and Marie Forbes November 28, 1939 and died on August 29, 2022 in Chico, CA.

Carol attended all the Orland Schools. She excelled in school and was also active as a Cheerleader, playing in the band, and raising 4H animals. Carol was active in the Federated Church (Methodist/ Presbyterian) in Orland and went on a two year inner city mission for the Methodist Church after college. She continued her religious interest and beliefs throughout her life. She loved music and enjoyed the symphony and opera.

She continued her education at Chico State, graduating with a teaching degree. After teaching in the Bay Area and Florida, Carol went back to college to get her Master's Degree in Counseling and spent many years working with students.

She taught school in the Bay Area shortly after college. She married Noel Vivion and with this came three step-children Pat, Pam, and Doug. They enjoyed getting to know family in Orland. This marriage didn't last, but Carol continued to see and enjoy Pat, Pam, and Doug.

She is preceded in death by her parents "Shorty" and Marie Forbes, brother- in-law Dr. Robert Keith, brother-in-law Dr. Steven Bates, sister-in-law Darlene Forbes, nephew Tom Bates, Nephew Josh Reichert, and special friend Jerry Hudgins.

She is survived by 3 siblings, Marvin Forbes (Orland, California), Careen Keith (Monroe, Wisconsin), and Nina Bates (Bayliss, California), stepchildren Pat, Pam, Doug, along with their families, and with many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are to be held on Monday September 12, 2022 10 AM at the Orland Federated Church with Pastor Scott Gessford officiating. Burial will be at I.O.O.F. Cemetery immediately following. A reception will be held at the Federated Church Social Hall.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Bidwell Presbyterian Church, Orland Federated Church, or a Charity of your choice.
