Cobi Van Warmerdam, long time resident of Orland, passed away peacefully surrounded by her
family at the age of 86. Cobi was born to Gerard & Hubertha van der Zon in Lisse, Holland where
she grew up on the family farm, the third of eight children.
In 1956, Cobi married the love of her life, Joe van Warmerdam and in 1959 they immigrated to
California with their first-born daughter Toosje. Their first home was in Elk Grove area where Joe
was establlishing himself as a dairyman. In 1979 they made their final move to Orland continuing
their dream of working together on their dairy farm, Cobi raising the calves and Joe milking the cows.
Cobi will be remembered as a kind, gentle and spiritual soul. Her family was the center of her life. In
her retirement Cobi enjoyed knitting blankets for family members, the elderly and children. She
prayed the rosary daily and also volunteered for the St. Dominic's Altar Society. Cobi was loved and
will be dearly missed. May she rest in peace.
Cobi was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Van Warmerdam. She is survived by her devoted
daughters, Toosje (John), Joyce, Margaret and granddaughter Nicole Anderson.
Services will take place at St. Dominic's Catholic Church in Orland. Recitation of the Rosary will be
held on Friday November 30, 2018 at 10:30 a.m., a Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m.
