Debra Rose Olivieri Fulmer
May 24, 1938 - June 30, 2020
Orland
Debra Rose Olivieri Fulmer, 82, of Orland, CA, passed away on June 30th, 2020. She was born on May 24th, 1938, in The Bronx, NYC, in New York, to Dorothy Verena Buckley and Arrigo "Harry" Olivieri.
As a small child, she traveled with her parents, who were vaudevillian performers, all across the country before settling in Monterey, CA in 1940. Later they moved to Southern California, where she grew up in the Los Angeles area. She met James Francis Salvatore, married, and had three children. By 1961, the pair were divorced, and she relocated to Santa Cruz County, where she began working for Plantronics, constructing the headsets worn by the first American astronauts that set foot on the moon. There she met John Lionel Albert Bouchard, whom she married, and had a child with. They later divorced, and she continued to reside in Santa Cruz County, raising her four children, where she met Richard Franklin Fulmer. The two also met while working for Plantronics, and were later married on May 13th, 1972. They made their life together in Soquel, CA, where they owned and operated 'RV Service Center' in Santa Cruz, CA.
Upon retiring, they relocated north to Orland, CA in 1997, where they purchased a home and land with large orange and olive orchards. She made great use of her time maintaining and caring for her land, while also compiling detailed genealogical archives of her family and the families of her loved ones. She had an immense love for animals of all walks of life, especially felines, and consistently added these cuddly creatures to her family tree. As the matriarch, she spent many summers surrounded by her children and her grandchildren, to whom she imparted her knowledge of horticulture. She was also a notably worthy 'Tetris' opponent.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her late husband, Richard Fulmer. She is survived by her children; Kathy Sue Bashor (Randy), James Robert Salvatore, Dorothy Ann Fulmer, and Cheryl Marie Wilkins (Roger), as well as her 9 grandchildren; Erik Strong (Nicole), Verena Coleman (Josh), Debbie Gasper (James), Andrew Wilkins, Erica Salvatore, Kristopher Wilkins, Justin York (Casey), Brandon Wilkins, Patrick Wilkins, and 12 great-grandchildren.
Her family will hold a private ceremony in Northern California, where she will be laid to rest next to her great-great-grandmother and her great-great-great-grandmother in Orland, CA.
