Lifelong resident of Orland, Elsie Marie Lorenzo passed away on March 10, 2021 of natural causes. Elsie was born on December 24, 1926 in Orland, Ca to John M. Silveira, and Maria Silveira. She graduated from Lake Elementary School in 1940 and Orland High School in 1944. She then went to work for Bucke's Feed and Grain in Orland. In August of 1946 while visiting her sister in Ferndale, Ca she met her future husband John Lorenzo. They were married at St. Dominic's Catholic Church in Orland February 1947. They lived on their Dairy until moving into Orland in 1979. Elsie continued to work for Bucke's until her retirement in 1989.
Elsie was a member of St. Dominic's Church, Orland Alumni, Just For Children of Glenn County and Past President of the Alter Society. Elsie and her husband enjoyed traveling and camping in their RV with family and friends.
Elsie is survived by her Son's Greg and Wife Vickie, Jeff and His wife Nita of Lodi California and her Son-In-Law Craig Nelson of Mission Viejo. She was also blessed with four Grandchildren, and ten Greatgrandchildren along with several Nieces and Nephews.
She was preceded in death by her Husband John C. Lorenzo, her Daughter Judy Nelson, her birth Mother Maria Silveira, her adopted Mother Prudencia Silveira, her Brothers John A. Silveira and Tony Deniz, her Sister Marie Nunes, and Sister- In-Law Janet Deniz.
Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of Sweet- Olsen Family Mortuary in Orland. A viewing is set for March 17th, between the hours of 10am and 4pm at Sweet- Olsen Family Mortuary. A Mass will be held on March 18th at 10:30 AM at St. Dominic's Catholic Church, seating is limited to 100, and the Mass will also be available on Zoom and Radio.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that any donations be made to the Orland Fire Department, St. Dominic's or any charity of your Choice.
