Gary G. Nunes of Orland passed away on September 13th, 2018 due to complications from cancer treatment. Gary was born in Chico, CA on July 15th, 1949 to his parents Frank and Marie Nunes. He was raised on the family dairy and attended Plaza School, Orland High School, and Chico State graduating in 1972 with an Ag Business Degree. Gary went on to spend 40 + years in the Ag Fertilizer and Chemical Business retiring in 2015.

Gary was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. He also enjoyed pack trips to the wilderness with his mules and horses. He loved spending time with his friends and family. He was actively involved with the Orland Holy Ghost Club, a member of the Knights of Columbus, and a member of numerous wildlife organizations. Gary was a very generous person and always willing to offer a helping hand. He will be remembered for his big personality, quick wit, and sense of humor.

Gary is predeceased by his parents Frank and Marie Nunes and his beloved son Trevor. His is survived by his wife Cindy, loving sons Jeremy (Georganna) of Woodland, CA and Justin (Angela) of Chico, CA, 2.5 grandchildren (Macey, Maddox, new baby in January), brothers David of Orland, CA and Dennis of Cottonwood, CA, and several nephews and nieces.

The family is requesting blood donations (for those that can) to their local blood bank. We ask this hoping to give other families more time with their loved ones.

Services for Gary will be held Friday September 21st, 2018 at St. Dominic's Catholic Church with a Rosary at 9:30 am and mass at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at the Catholic Cemetery on County Road P in Orland.
