George Vonasek passed away on May 5, 2022, at the age of 96, having been predeceased by his wife, Grace in 1996.

He was born in Orland on August 1, 1925, to Bob (Bohus) Vonasek and Elizabeth (Benda) Vonsasek. George and his five brothers were born and lived in the family home on South Street, previously known as Bungalow Road in Orland. George was a World War II veteran who, other than a short stint in the Bay area, lived his entire life in Orland.

George was an old car buff who restored and enjoyed many old cars for himself as well as others in the community.

He was a member of the Eagles, the Historical Society, the VFW, as well as a founding member of the NorCal Unique car club.

George is survived by his son, David of Auburn, along with three grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and ten great-great-grandchildren.

Per his wishes, there will be no services.
