In Loving Memory of Greg Meredyk

Gregory G. Meredyk, born in Detroit on January 28, 1946, a man whose life was as vibrant and fast-paced as the race cars he loved, passed away on June 16, 2024. Born with a passion for speed and a heart full of love, Greg left an indelible mark on everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Greg was a devoted husband to Rhonda, they were married on November 10, 1967, in Lynnwood CA. Rhonda was his lifelong partner and best friend. In their 58 years together, they built a beautiful family, raising two sons, Anthony and Kevin Meredyk, who inherited their father's zest for life and boundless energy.

Greg's life was a tapestry woven with many passions. He enlisted in the United States Navy in October of 1965 and served as an electrician EM2 throughout his time in the Navy as well as his deployment in Vietnam. He was awarded the National Defense Service medal, Vietnam Service Medal and the Bronze Star.

He was an avid race car enthusiast finding exhilaration and joy on the track. Farming was another of Greg's great loves, a pursuit that grounded him and connected him to the earth. And then there were the mules, those steadfast companions that added a unique charm to Greg's diverse interests.

His love for his family extended to his grandchildren, Mikayla and Ayden, who were his pride and joy. Greg cherished every moment spent with them, passing on his wisdom, humor, and love of adventure.

Greg's legacy is one of passion, dedication, and love. He lived life at full throttle, and his spirit will forever race through the hearts of those who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents Anthony and Bernetta Meredyk and his beloved older brother Kenny.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Rhonda; his sons, Tony & Julie Meredyk of Orland, CA and Kevin Meredyk & Matt White of Garland TX; his cherished grandchildren, Mikayla and Ayden, and countless friends and family members who will miss his infectious enthusiasm and warm smile.

Though he has crossed the finish line of this life, Greg's memory will continue to fuel the hearts of those who loved him. He lived life as if every day was a race, and his spirit will forever inspire us to live with the same passion and joy.

Arrangements are held under the direction of Sweet-Olsen Family Mortuary.
