Howard Miller
Cook, Jr.
Nov 12, 1941 — Mar 19, 2019
Howard Miller Cook Jr. passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 19, 2019. Howard graduated from Hamilton City High School in 1959, at which time he and his brother Vic enrolled in the National Guard. Howard lived a full and active life enjoying many of his hobbies. He spent many years talking on his CB Radio where he was known as the "Claim Jumper". Flying radio controlled airplanes and re-building them kept him busy as well. Miller, as he was mostly known, was admired by his close friends and family as a "very smart man", some even called him an institution of knowledge as he knew the answers to most all questions. He was happy to share that knowledge with his friends as they met daily for coffee.
Howard retied from Dole Nut Co., previously Duche, having spent 30 years repairing and maintaining equipment at the plant. After retiring, Miller and Nina spent time together working in their yard growing vegetables and pulling weeds as there was never a shortage of outdoor work. Miller was also handy in the house and enjoyed running back and fourth from ACE Hardware to gather the necessary parts to put it all together. Miller and Nina also enjoyed time with their grandchildren, and taking trips to Oregon with the Family.
Howard is survived by his wife; Lynnea (Orland, CA), sons; Kevin and Jason Cook (Anderson, CA), brother; Victor Cook (Orland, CA), niece; Karen Thank you for all you did. Step-Children; Ed Bible (Santa Rosa, CA), Tim Bible (Cohasset, CA), and Dayna Bible (Orland, CA). Five grandchildren, and one great grandchild. Howard was preceded in death by his father; Howard Cook SR., his mother; Neva, and his beloved son; Damon. Howard will be missed by all. Rest in Peace.
