Ida Jane Haldorson, a lifelong resident of Orland, California, passed away on July 14, 2026, one week shy of her 90th birthday. Born on July 23, 1936, in Orland, Ida spent her entire life in the community she cherished.

One of six children, Ida grew up with a deep appreciation for family, a value she carried throughout her life. In 1958, she married the love of her life, Ernie Haldorson (who preceded her in death in 2021), and together they built a loving home while raising five children: Leslie (who preceded her in death in 2012), Linda, Larry, Lynn, and Lee.

Ida's greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother to six grandchildren, and great-grandmother to two great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will miss her dearly.

As a homemaker, Ida had a gift for making everyone feel welcome. She lovingly cared not only for her own children but also for many children of friends and family throughout the years. Her kitchen was the heart of her home, where she was known for her delicious home-cooked meals and especially her wonderful homemade pies.

Ida rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on her children at their sporting events and school activities. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, including attending motorcycle races at the Glenn County Fairgrounds, watching local parades, and spending time tending to her beautiful flowers and garden. She was also a devoted Elvis Presley fan, and his music always brought a smile to her face.

Ida will be remembered for her kind heart, unwavering devotion to her family, generous spirit, and the countless ways she made others feel loved and cared for. Her legacy lives on in the family she treasured and the many lives she touched throughout her years.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.

A graveside service will be held at the Masonic Cemetery in Orland, 6525 County Rd 9 on Saturday, September 12th, at 10:00am. Afterwards, everyone is invited to join the family for a gathering at Lynn & Elke’s in Chico.
