Aug 26, 1924 — Jan 26, 2022
Agnes "Imogene" Trimble passed peacefully in her sleep surrounded by her family and beloved dogs on January 26, 2022.
Imogene was born on August 26, 1924 to Pansy and Carl Coombs in Wayne County, Iowa. Her family moved to El Camino Water District at the age of 2. She came cross country in a Model T with her parents and younger brother Bud.
Imogene graduated from Red Bluff High School in 1942. Not too long after finishing High school she began work as a Nursing Assistant at St. Elizabeth Hospital. While working at the Hospital, Sister Mary Columba talked her into going to St. Josephs School of Nursing in San Francisco where she graduated as a Registered Nurse. Later on went to Chico State. She worked as a School Nurse and Secretary at the Corning Schools for 10 years.
Imogene met her Husband a young attorney Robert "Bob" Trimble at a political party where she was helping a friend. They married on December 28, 1958. They had 3 kids, and that's when she quit working to be a full time mother, something she very much so enjoyed. She eventually returned to work in 1973 at Glenn Medical Center as a Charge Nurse for Med/ Surg. She retired from Crestwood Convalescent Hospital in 1990.
Imogene enjoyed her dogs and especially her llama Melton. She was an avid gardener, enjoyed taking walks, and helping people. At the age of 70 she hiked the Grand Canyon. She was selfless, generous, and always willing to help anyone in need.
She is preceded in death by her parents Carl and Pansy Coombs, her husband Robert "Bob", her brother Ray "Bud", LeRoy "Doc", and her son- in- law Dave Lewis.
She is survived by her daughter Linda of Orland, Robert "Bud" of Chico, Lisa Olson (Rick) of Bangor, her sister-in-law Della of Red Bluff, her beloved care taker Debbie Boyles (Bob) of Orland, multiple nieces, and nephews.
