Obituary

Jim Osburn passed away peacefully on June 22, 2026.

He was born in Chehalis, Washington and moved to Orland in 1958. In 1960 he married Judith Wadman and they recently celebrated 66 years of marriage. Jim loved to fish and was the happiest when he was fishing remote lakes in British Columbia, Canada, or sitting on the porch of his cabin looking out over Charolette Lake. He loved to bring out the photo albums, share a Canadian beer and a jar of smoked trout and tell stories with anyone that would listen. He also took every opportunity to take friends and family out on the Sacramento River salmon fishing.

Jim worked in construction for more than 35 years. In 1982 he bought a citrus orchard that would later serve as his “retirement” although anyone who knew him knows he never could retire.

He is survived by his wife, Judi Osburn, his daughters Joyce Yancy (Steve), Karen Dura (David), grandsons Taylor Simas (Kate), Ben Simas (Will), Jacob Ficher and great grandchildren Steel and Jette Simas.

Per his wishes, no formal services will be held. Those wishing to honor his memory are encouraged to make a donation to their favorite charity.

Arrangements are held under the direction of Sweet-Olsen Family Mortuary.
