Obituary

Janice Kay Prince, age 73, of Orland, CA passed away August 13, 2019 in Chico, CA. Janice was born May 17, 1946 in Merced, CA to parents Walter and Veda Willis Allman. She attended Fresno State College, serving as a student teacher, and ending her education with only a few units short of a degree. Janice's first marriage ended in divorce after 14 years. In 1980, she married Kenneth Prince, and they have lived together happily for the past 39 years.
Janice is a past president of the Emblem Club of Quincy B.P.O.E. #1884. She and Ken worked for years in maintaining snow mobile and cross country ski trails at Buck's Lake. Janice served as the #1 emergency radio operator while Ken operated a groomer's cat cleaning 120 miles of trails and logging roads throughout the area.
Janice loved beading for many years, until arthritis proved to be too painful to continue her artistry. She was a very nice lady, highly intelligent, and civic minded. Janice will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her loving husband; Ken, her son; Trevor Ganske of Boise, Idaho, three step-sons; Kenneth Lane Prince of Red Bluff, Matthew Prince of Diamond Bar, Mitchell Prince of Willows, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Services will be private under the direction of Sweet-Olsen Family Mortuary.
