Jared Austin
Eyslee
Apr 4, 2000 — Aug 9, 2024
Jared Austin Eyslee, age 24, of Yankee Hill, California, passed away on August 9th, 2024. Born on April 4th, 2000, in Paradise, California to Lori and Fariss Eyslee. Jared was a dearly beloved son, brother, friend, and life-long disciple of Jesus Christ as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
From a young age Jared had an amazing imagination and creativity, and he enjoyed making up new worlds to entertain others. He was attending Butte College to study Computer Aided Designing, with the goal of becoming a videogame developer. When he was not studying or working on homework, he could be found playing Magic, the Gathering, or Dungeons and Dragons with his friends.
Jared was well known for his love of the outdoors, hiking, and adventuring, playing pool, playing video games and board/card games, drawing both new story characters and comic strips, his charismatic smile, and humor. Devastatingly he was diagnosed with Friedreich's ataxia, a degenerative disease of the nervous system, at the age of 16, but had unknowingly been battling with it his whole life.
Despite this diagnosis and passing at such a young age, Jared was able to accomplish much in his life. He managed to complete two 50-mile hikes with the American Boy Scouts at the ages of 12, and 13, attended two weekend Pioneer Reenactment Camps at the ages of 15 and 18, and went ziplining and snorkeling in Hawaii. He also pioneered a new program for full time service missions for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at the age of 19 where he served the community both at the Bishop's Storehouse and helping rehome victims of The Camp Fire (including his own parents). He also was well known for his years of serving in God's Holy House, the Feather River Temple.
Jared is survived by his parents, Lori and Fariss Eyslee, and his siblings, Andrew (Ericha) Eyslee, Cynthia (Skyler) Ramsden, Celine (Ruben) Vazquez, and Emily Eyslee.
His Funeral Services were held on August 17th, 2024, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, with Burial Services being completed on August 20th, 2024.
Arrangements are held under the direction of Sweet-Olsen Family Mortuary
