Jeffry Scott
Davis
Nov 16, 1963 — Nov 1, 2009
Jeffry Scott Davis, 45, died peacefully at his home in Chico, CA due to complications from ALS or Lou Gehrig's disease. Jeff was born November 16, 1963 in Walnut Creek, CA, and moved to Willows, CA as an infant, where he lived until he was 18 years of age. He graduated from Willows High School in 1982, and achieved an Associate Degree and Certificate of Achievement in paramedics from Butte College in 1985. Jeff worked as a paramedic for the next 21 years, in the Bay Area, Yuba City and Marysville area, and primarily in Chico, for Enloe Medical Center. Over that time period, Jeff played an instrumental role in the precepting and training of new paramedics and emergency medical technicians (EMT) in the NorCal region.
Jeff lived in Chico, CA for the last 21 years of his life, where he loved the outdoor activities the area afforded. Fishing, pheasant hunting, pitching for a local hard-ball baseball team, skiing, and camping with his family are some of the adventurous activities he greatly enjoyed. Jeff was fun-loving with a great sense of humor; teasing those he loved was one of his greatest pleasures.
Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Davis, his grandmothers Louise Paulsen and Dorothy Steifvater, his grandfather Jerry Steifvater, and his mother-in-law Patricia Tompkins. He is survived by his wife, Donna Davis and their two children, Tyler and Haley, his mother Carolyn Davis, his two sisters and brother-in-laws, Shelley and Eric Hanson , Tori and Rick Perez, his grandfather John Paulsen, and numerous nieces and nephews, along with brother and sister-in-laws.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled at Newton Bracewell Chico Funeral Home on November 14, 2009 at 10 am. Jeff requested that this not be a mourning period; please refrain from wearing black. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Butte College Foundation Jeff Davis Memorial Scholarship fund are requested.
