Jerome Joseph Peitz died unexpectedly November 7th. He was 62 years old. Jerome was born in Yankton, South Dakota. His family moved to his hometown of Orland when he was 3 years old.

Jerome was blessed to spend the majority of his life near his family and dear friends which he grew up with. Jerome loved sports as a child. He swam for the Orland Otters, excelled as a pitcher in youth baseball, and played quarterback on the high school football team. After graduating from Orland High, he attended Shasta College where he completed his education with an Associates Arts degree.

Jerome recently retired after 36 years of proud employment at John Manville corporation in Willows, CA. There he was fortunate to work alongside his father, Gerald Peitz (deceased) as well as make many genuine friends over the years. Jerome was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. Jerome had a great devotion to his Catholic faith and family. He was kind and liked by all.

Jerome was preceded in death by his father (Gerald) and his son (Justin). He is remembered and mourned by his mother Irene Peitz, sister and brother-in law Mary Carlson and Terence Carlson; brother and sister-in law Thomas Peitz, MD and Susan Lambe-Peitz, MD, as well as nieces Laura, Madeleine and Sarah, nephews Kevin, John and Jacob, and one great niece, Ava Rose.

Our family would like to express our most sincere appreciation to the many friends that traveled far and near to support us during this difficult time. A heart-felt Thank You to Father Mauricio Hurtado of St Dominic's church and the saintly women of the Women's Altar Society for their support to the Peitz family, and the countless other families, for which they have provided support.
