JoAnn Long passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 27, 2020 after a brief illness. JoAnn was born in Ely, Nevada on January 19, 1942 and was the youngest of six children born to John and Norma Molleson. She lived on the family homestead in Steptoe, Nevada until she was four years old when the family relocated to Hayward, California. The family moved to Orland, California, when JoAnn was a teenager where she met the love of her life Johnny A. Long.Johnny and JoAnn were married January 24, 1959 and had four children. Sherrie Caster (Bart) of Orland, Carol Lynch (Mark) of Corning, Johnny "Butch" Long Jr. of Orland, and Mike Long of Orland. JoAnn was preceded in death by her loving husband Johnny in 1987 and her son Mike in 2018.Nothing made JoAnn happier than spending time with her family which includes 11 grandchildren 18 great-grandchildren, her only surviving brother Art Molleson, and godchildren, Rick Molleson, Chuck Molleson, and Michael Mishoe Jr. JoAnn ran Jo's Family Day Care for over 45 years and many of the children she watched over still visited as adults and looked on her as part of their extended families.JoAnn was a lifelong 49ers fan, loved her Hallmark and Lifetime movies and classic shows like Walker Texas Ranger and Little House on the Prairie. Most of all though, she loved her family and spent as much time as possible with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, she attended every game of her children's coed softball team, The Outlaws, for over 30 years, in addition to sports and other events that they participated in.Private interment will be held at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by Sweet-Olsen Family Mortuary in Orland.
