Obituary

John Henning Erickson (1955-2024) was born to Arvell and Joan Erickson on April 28th, 1955 in Chico, Ca. John was raised in Orland, CA, graduating from Orland High School in 1973. This is where he met Toni Trovao, his high school sweetheart, wife of 47 years and love of his life. Together they were blessed with three children: Katie, Brian, and Natalie. John studied at CSU, Chico for two years, but ultimately decided to join his father's farming operation. John was instrumental in building and growing Erickson Orchards, a three-generation family farm, into a successful business. John wielded substantial influence within the local agricultural community where he served in numerous roles. John was the President of the Board of Directors at North State Hulling. He was a part of the California Olive Committee, was on the bargaining committee, the Olive Growers Council of California, and was a member of the Orland Artois Water District. John's impact on the community extended beyond his life's work in farming. He served on the Orland School Board for over 12 years and helped secure ag land for Orland High School. Though his roles and accomplishments are many, John's family was the source of his joy and the accomplishment that he was most proud of. His passions included farming, travel, waterskiing, quality time spent with family and above all else, his faith, which he devotedly shared with his family. John passed away on June 18th, 2024 and is survived by his beloved wife Toni, his brother Roger, his sister Sherry, his children Katie Miller (Matt), Brian Erickson (Krystal), and Natalie Kitchen (Greg) as well as his 7 grandchildren (Jax, Rocco, Sam, Ella, Lyla, Luke, and Teddy) with another grandchild due in December.
