John Gehring was born in Orland, California

to Charles and Mary Gehring.  John lived on the

family farm with his parents and brother, Dale.

He attended Orland schools.  In high school, John

raised, Judy, his favorite heifer for his 4H project.

After graduation, John learned how to drive truck,

and for many years he hauled hay, potatoes, and milk.

John met and married Nina Gallegos,

and together they had four beautiful daughters;

Michelle, Candace, Marguerite and Christina.

In August of 1999, John married Janet Snodgrass,

and his family continued to grow with a son, Phillip.

John was a family man and gathered more children:

Curt and Karen Rustenhoven.

Some people gather pets or things, John gathered

children.  He leaves behind 14 grandchildren

and 5 great grandchildren.

John loved his family, friends, and his trucks,

big or small.  John will be missed deeply.

He was a good man who loved fishing,

exploring mountain roads, sunsets, his dogs, and

even became well trained by Little Man, our cat.

I have figured out that the world

was made better for John being in it,

I just wish I would have told him sooner.

I loved him even when he was not too easy to love.
