John Silva Jr of Durham, California passed away on November 28, 2022 at the age of 89. John Silva Jr was born on April 21, 1933 in Oakland, California to parents John and Emily Silva. He grew up in Castro Valley, California with his sister Lillian, and brother Robert.

At a young age john went to work with his father at the Vulcan Steel Foundry in Oakland, California. He joined the Navy on November 26, 1951. He served on the ship Froniter, as Molder FiremanUSN-1. He received an honorable discharge on June 14, 1954. John married the love of his life Shari Frogge on July 3, 1954. He returned to work in the Foundry for a short time. John then started driving trucks for a living until he retired. He absolutely loved driving trucks. John and his wife Shari had sports cars and ran auto crosses and raced for years. The family moved to Orland in Capay in 1978, built a dairy and milked cows for a few years. Their daughter, Charise began showing shores so the family traveled to many horse shows.

John is survived by his wife Shari Silva, and daughter Charise Silva. John is preceded in death by his Father John Silva, Mother Emily Silva, Sister Lillian Mendonca (Lathrop, CA), and Brother Robert Silva (Winnemucca, NV).
