Jose Luis Hernandez Flores, 57, of Orland, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2024, surrounded by loved ones.

Born on November 17, 1966, in Santa Ana Yenshu Centro, Mexico, Jose was the beloved son of Paula Carmen Flores and Adrian Florentino Hernandez.

Jose's journey through life was one of resilience and perseverance. At 19, driven by dreams of a better life, he made the bold move to the United States. A man of simple pleasures, Jose found solace in activities like fishing, leather craftsmanship, playing the guitar, and sharing jokes—bringing moments of joy to those around him.

His dedication was unwavering as he spent 35 years working in agriculture. Though Jose's presence will be deeply missed, his legacy of hard work, humility, and resilience will remain a cherished memory among those who knew him.

Jose is survived by his four children, Rosalia, Luis, Yolanda, and Patricia, shared with his former spouse, Patricia Cisneros, as well as his first grandson, Luca Gael, son of Rosalia.

A vigil will take place on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at the Sweet-Olsen Family Chapel from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Mass will be held the following day, Friday, April 5, 2024, at St. Dominic Catholic Church at 11:00 AM. The burial will be held in Mexico.

Arrangements are under the direction of Sweet-Olsen Family Mortuary.

La vida de Jose fue dura pero valiente. A los 19 años, se mudó a los Estados Unidos y aprendió inglés. Le gustaba la pesca, tocar la guitarra y hacer bromas para hacer feliz a la gente.

Su dedicación fue firme mientras pasó 35 años trabajando en la agricultura. Aunque la presencia de José será profundamente extrañada, su legado de trabajo arduo, humildad y resiliencia permanecerá como un recuerdo preciado entre aquellos que lo conocieron.

José es sobrevivido por sus cuatro hijos, Rosalía, Luis, Yolanda y Patricia, quienes tuvo con su ex esposa, Patricia Cisneros, y por su primer nieto, Luca Gael, hijo de Rosalía.

Se llevará a cabo una vigilia el jueves 4 de abril de 2024 en la Capilla de la Familia Sweet-Olsen de 4:00 PM a 7:00 PM Se llevará a cabo una misa al día siguiente, viernes 5 de abril de 2024 en la Iglesia Católica St. Dominic a las 11:00 AM. El entierro se llevará a cabo en México.
