Joyce Darleen Burgoon passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on December 28 th , 2021 in Chico, CA due to a lengthy fight with Lung disease.
Joyce was born January 17, 1941 in Neosho, Missouri to Raymond Rentfro and Bernice Wallace. In 1954 Joyce and her family moved to the Glenn County area, she attended Orland High School. Joyce and John Burgoon married on July 9 th , 1955. The two remained in love and together for the last 66 years.
Joyce was a loving Wife, Mom, Grandma, Great-Grandma, Sister, Aunt, and Friend. Her proudest work accomplishments were driving trucks alongside of her husband at Manner Trucking. Joyce had a lot of jobs she kept and maintained throughout her years of life, Ben Franklin, Duche Nut, Manner Trucking, Dukes Cork 'n Bottle, Farmers Insurance, Valley Rock, and then she started her own business Mrs. J's Yogurt and Ice cream which she owned and operated for 27 years. Joyce also had a 25 year membership with Square Dancing; she was part of the Moose Lodge, and also spent 25 years as a member of the Western Fair Association.
Joyce is survived by her Husband John Burgoon SR (Orland, CA), Son John (Donna) Burgoon JR (Chico, CA), Daughter Patty (Johnny) Krenek Gray (Orland, CA), Grand Children David Krenek (Chico, CA), Scot (Kayla) Krenek (Chico, CA), Joey (Megan) Burgoon (Oakley, CA), John (Heidi) Gray (Orland, CA), Jim Gray (Orland, CA), Jason Gray (Red Bluff, CA), Lesley Gray (Artois, CA), Chris Cesa ( Artois, CA), Great -Grandchildren Hunter Krenek, Allie Krenek , Payton Krenek, Maximus Krenek, Addison Burgoon, Maddy Gray, Evie Gray, Avalyn Gray, Brothers Rick (Cheryl) Wallace, Larry (Sherry) Wallace, along with many Nieces, and Nephews who she loved dearly.
Joyce is preceded in death by her Father Raymond Rentfro, Mother Bernice Wallace, Sister Barbara Walton, Brother's Charles Virgin, and Walt Wallace.
She'll be missed by all that knew and loved her.
Services are held under the direction of Sweet-Olsen Family Mortuary. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 4th, from 1-4 pm in the Sweet-Olsen Family Mortuary chapel, 825 A Street, Orland. Funeral Service will be held at Harvest Baptist Church on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at 11 AM. Graveside will follow at I.O.O.F Cemetery in Orland, CA.
In lieu of flowers Memorial Contributions can be made to the American Lung Association.
