LEE JAMES WATSON 1945-2026

Lee James Watson, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on April 12, 2026, in Williams, California. Born on February 11,1945, in Oakland, California, and moved to Chico along with his parents James and Dorothy Watson shortly thereafter. Lee lived a life marked by hard work, generosity, and a deep love for the outdoors. Lee dedicated much of his professional life to his work as a construction superintendent. His expertise and leadership left a lasting impact on the projects he oversaw and the people he worked alongside. Beyond his career in construction, Lee was also a cattle rancher and farmer, a testament to his strong connection to the land and his tireless work ethic. Lee's passions extended far beyond his professional endeavors. He found immense joy in elk and deer hunting with his family and friends. Hiking through the mountains brought him peace and fulfillment, allowing him to connect with nature in its purest form. Music was another source of happiness for Lee; he had a particular fondness for classic rock the resonated deeply with him throughout his life. Lee's kindness and willingness to help others were defining traits that endeared him to all who knew him. He never hesitated to lend a hand to anyone in need—a quality that will be remembered by many. Lee is survived by his devoted wife, Cathy; two sons, Tim Watson, and Mike Watson; grandchildren Lee Watson, Abigail Watson, Brad Watson, Nina Watson, Emily Watson and Adrian Daniel and Patrick Daniel; two sisters and two brothers; and numerous nieces and nephews. Lee was predeceased by his son Buddy, his parents James and Dorothy Watson, and his sister Christine. Lee's memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. May his legacy of kindness and love for life continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
