Leland Roy "Lee" Willis, 82, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2026.
Lee was born on December 17, 1943, in Klamath Falls, Oregon, to the late Fred C. Willis and Hazel Myrtle Myers. He was one of five children.
Lee dedicated 26 years of service as a heavy equipment operator with the California Department of Transportation before retiring in 2004. He was known for his strong work ethic and took great pride in his career.
In retirement, Lee enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He was a proud member of the Chico Bass Club, had a deep love for all dogs, and treasured road trips to Yellowstone National Park and cruises to Alaska. More than anything, he cherished the time he spent with his family and friends.
Lee is survived by his beloved wife, Bonnie Willis; his son, Scott Willis of Salem, Oregon; his daughter, Carolee Willis of Sacramento, California; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two siblings.
Lee will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, unwavering work ethic, kind heart, and the countless memories he created with those he loved. Though he is no longer with us, the love, laughter, and legacy he leaves behind will remain in the hearts of all who knew him.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
