LEO J. HEISE
Leo J. Heise, age 84 of Orland, CA passed away September 26, 2017 at his home following a 16 year battle with cancer. He was born January 17, 1933 in Regent, ND to John and Mary Heise. After graduating from Orland High School in 1951, he attended Shasta Jr. College for two years. Leo joined the US Army and served in the Korean War . He married Sharon Sivesind June 7, 1958 and were happily married for 59 years. Leo worked for PG&E as a Lineman and Troubleman for 35 years, finally retiring in 1993. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, fly tying, and abalone fishing at the ocean. He also loved gold panning, making saurkraut and curing olives. Important in his life were his trips to Taiwan to visit his son and family. Leo is survived by his wife, Sharon; son, Kevin (Ellen) Heise of Orland; daughter, Leanne (Greg) Hinton of Orland; 3 grandchildren, Jason Molleson of Seattle, WA, Thomas Heise of Orland, and Christine of Orland; and brother Virgil Heise of Orland. He is preceeded in death by his parents, brother, Wilfred (Bud), and sisters, Mildred and Virginia. Memorial contributions may be made to Enloe Hospice, UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center, or your favorite charity . Graveside services will be this Friday, October 6, 2017 at the Oddfellows Cemetery on County Road P at 2:00 pm. A reception will follow at the Fireside Room of First Lutheran Church. F.D. Sweet & Son Mortuary, 825 A Street, Orland, CA 95963 is handling all arrangements.
