Obituary

Leroy Dwight Madsen passed away in Chico, California on December 22, 2021 at the age of 90. Leroy was born in Alameda, California on April 22, 1931 to Edward Leo Madsen and Lucy K. Madsen.

In 1949 Leroy had completed and graduated from Orland High school. Shortly after high school Leroy joined the U.S. Navy, he served from 1951-1954 and became a Korean War Veteran. During his service, Leroy married in 1952 to Mary Lynn Peck and spent the next 22 years together.
For 21 years of his life, Leroy worked at Diamond International Lumber, along with being the owner and operator for Custom Window Screens. He was also a part of different organizations such as Teamster's Union, Orland Mason's, Orland Volunteer Fire Department, Orland Moose Lodge Member, and VFW Member. An accomplishment Leroy had was how much he traveled all over the United States, New Zealand, Australia, Tasmania, back packing through Southeast Asia, Thailand, Malaysia, Java, Indonesia, also sailed through the Panama Canal, and visited the Caribbean.

Leroy is survived by his Son Michael D. Madsen (Orland, CA), Daughter Katherine J. Thomas (Chico, CA), Diana L. Trammel (Orland, CA), 5 Grandchildren, and 7 Great-Grandchildren.

Services will be held Saturday, March 5, 2022 from 4pm – 7pm at the Moose Lodge 5th Street, Orland California.
