Marie Diane Emanuel (Utley) passed away peacefully in her home in Orland, CA after a battle with lung cancer and brain cancer. Marie had lived in Orland for over 50 years.

Marie and her twin sister, Marilyn, were born in Astoria Long Island, NY on December 15th, 1957, to their parents Alice Berniece Utley-Clarke, and Larry Jim Utley.

Marie graduated from Orland High School in 1976. She was well liked by many. She loved to play baseball and was good at it.

She worked many jobs in her life, including with the Bureau of Reclamations and with travel accessories.

Marie was married to her loving husband, Ken Emanuel, for 32 years.

Marie would do anything for anyone. If you needed help, she was always there with a smile. If you ran into her in town, she knew who you were and would remember everything about you. She would always act things out. She was funny, loving, a good mom, and an all-around good person. To know her was to love her.

Marie is survived by her husband, Ken Emanuel of Orland, CA, her children Rose Bird of Anderson, CA, and Billy Bird of Willows, CA, stepchildren Charlie Emanuel (Gema) of Orland, CA, and Brandy Fletcher Emanuel (Brett) of El Dorado Hills, CA, grandchildren Conley and Raiden Bird of Willows, CA, Nicole, Lindsey, and Ethan of Orland, CA, and Maya and Violet of El Dorado Hills, CA, twin sister Marilyn Irvin (John) of Edmond, OK, sister Marian Barron of Orland, CA, brother Richard Panopulos of Orland, CA, nieces and nephews James Barron, Kristy Dexter, Nillie Irvin, sister-in-law Kristine, brothers-in-law Karl, Kurt, and Kevin Emanuel, and several great nieces and nephews.

Marie is preceded in death by her parents Alice Berniece Utley-Clarke and Larry Jim Utley, nieces Tina and Michelle Irvin, and sister-in-law Kathy.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11am on Saturday, February 17th at the New Life Center (located inside the old movie theater), 809 4th street, Orland, CA followed by a potluck from 12-3pm at the Hive Barn on the corner of 6th and Walker.
