MARIE IRENE NUNES
Marie Irene Nunes passed away peacefully on October 19, 2017, at the age of 93. She was born to Antone and Prudencia Deniz on September 23, 1924 in Arcata, CA. Marie moved to Orland where she grew up and attended Lake Elementary School and Orland High School. She married Frank G. Nunes of Ferndale, CA on April 24, 1946. Marie's favorite things in life were watching her S.F. Giants, cooking, gardening, and visiting with her children and most of all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Marie is preceded in death by her husband Frank; father Antone Deniz, step-father John M. Silveira, mother Prudencia Silveira, her brothers, Tony Deniz and John A. Silveira and grandson Trevor Nunes. Marie is survived by her sons Dennis (Judy), Gary (Cindy) and David (Noreen), seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, her sister Elsie Lorenzo and sister-in-law's; Alice Mello and Janet Deniz Alexis. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Enloe Hospice or the charity of your choice . Visitation will be held October 30, 2017 at 9:30AM, Rosary at 10:30AM followed by Mass at 11:00AM at St. Dominic's Catholic Church in Orland. Arrangements are being handled through F.D. Sweet and Son in Orland.
