Michael Ray Jones, 70, of Orland, California, peacefully passed on February 28, 2023 surrounded by his love ones, after a 32 year battle with Lymes Disease. He was an old school cowboy with the biggest heart and was one of the strongest men you'd ever meet.
Michael was born to John Jones and Maxine Benhart on September 17, 1952. Michael grew up in Orland and graduated from Orland High School. He was married to Pam Fluery and they had two children. Preceding her death he remarried to Toni Toste and had one daughter. They had an adventurous life in the mountains up past Black Butte Lake, raising countless dogs and wildlife over the years.
Michael worked as FEDERAL WILDLIFE TRAPPER for many years. He was passionate about the outdoors and had an incredible love for animals. In 2002, Michael was honored with the WILDLIFE SPECIALIST OF THE YEAR AWARD.
Michael is preceded in death by his parents John Jones and Maxine Benhart. Survived by Aspen Jones, Angela Jones, Travis Jones. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren and his beloved companion Duke his Great Pyrenees.
Graveside service will be 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 7th at Newville Cemetery
