Michael Henry Long, Sr.'s Obituary
Michael "Mike" Henry Long, Sr., 54, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Orland on February 21, 2018. Mike was born in Willows to Johnny A., Sr., and JoAnn (Molleson) Long on December 11, 1963. The family resided in Orland where he attended public schools and graduated from Orland High in 1982.
He worked for 27 years as a ceiling installer for Sun Valley Acoustical in Chico and was a talented handyman who helped many people in the Orland community. He enjoyed working on cars, was an avid Raiders fan and sports enthusiast who pitched for the family softball team "The Outlaws", and passed on this love to his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Mike's survivors include his children, Michael Long, Jr. (Jenna) of Sacramento; LaDonna Long (Jovanny Rueda) of Orland; and Jordan Long of Chico; granddaughters, Gisel; Lexi; and Evalynn; and grandson, Colson, who is due in April; mother, JoAnn; sisters, Sherrie Caster (Bart) of Orland; and Carol Lynch (Mark) of Corning; and brother, Johnny "Butch" Long, Jr. of Orland; four nieces, three nephews, five great-nieces and great-nephews with one on the way; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and their families. He is preceded in death by his father in 1987.
Private interment and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by F. D. Sweet & Son Mortuary in Orland.
