Reuben Lima was born on October 12, 1987, in Goias, Brazil, to Antonio Alves de Lima and Juanita Rose Loewen Lima. As his daughter Tatiane said, he left us while doing what he loved, at sunset on February 15, 2023, near Corning, California.
He grew up in Brazil, where he enjoyed driving a tractor even when he was almost too small to be seen on it. He got his basic education in the elementary school in Brazil. He was baptized on April 8, 2001, by Minister Dean Mininger at the Rio Verdinho congregation of the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite in Brazil. Although he met challenges, he held to this faith. He moved to join his family in the United States when he was seventeen years old, enthusiastic about the flight but less so about the adjustments that became a part of the move.
On June 24, 2007, he married me, Rachelle Toews, the love of his life. We lived at Glenn, CA, on the Saint Louis ranch. We enjoyed the first thirteen years of our life together while we lived there. Our first daughter, Tatiane Rose, was born on December 26, 2012. Chloe Mae joined us on March 3, 2015. The third daughter, Shania Nicole, completed our family on December 22, 2018. Our dreams of owning our own home were realized when we moved to Corning, CA, on Thanksgiving Day in 2020.
Reuben worked hard to start his own business, first buying a tractor to start a custom farming business while doing farming on his own and while employed by J&R Giesbrecht. In 2014 he bought a truck for the purpose of hauling storage sheds. In 2016 he took over the storage shed building business. He again put his heart into it and created a successful enterprise. His purpose of starting his own business was primarily to support his family, but also to help others. Only later has it become known that he helped many. He was passionate about hunting and fishing and most of all flying. He was always up for the challenge of projects, both of building and repairing. He possessed the ingenuity to figure out how to do unusual things. He loved living at Corning, and he put a lot of effort into establishing the Shasta View Congregation. He was generous with his time, talents, and money to anyone in need.
Left to cherish fond memories are his loving wife, Rachelle, and his three precious daughters, Tatiane, Chloe, and Shania, and Landon Koehn, Corning, CA; his parents, Tony and Juanita Lima, Glenn, CA; brother Matthew and wife Holly, Glenn, CA; sisters Missy and Mitch Koehn, Olathe, CO; Merrilee and Vance Becker, Detroit, TX, and Sylvia, Detroit, TX; grandparents Ike and Rosalie Loewen, Glenn, CA; father-in-law Randal and Roberta Toews, Willows, CA; brother-in-law Trendal and Mary Beth Toews, Bayliss, CA; special friends Mike and Joy Jefferson, Anderson, CA; Mat and Cherie Garcia, Bayliss, CA, and many more.

Services are held under the direction of Sweet-Olsen Family Mortuary.
