Ronald Irwin Putnam of Orland, died June 23rd, 2018. He was born to Harold and Catherine Putnam in Inglewood, CA moving to Orland in 1956 and graduated from Orland High in 1959. After high school, he and his brother Phil joined the US Airforce and served until 1963. Ron was a mechanic for 60 years and owned a few repair shops in Orland for many years. He had many really good friends that he still enjoyed until his passing. He was a member of Orland Fire Dept from 1971 to 1976 and was also a member of the Chrysler Airflow Club of America. Ron is survived by his brothers, Phil Putnam (Barbara) and Jerry Putnam (MaCrae); sons Dave Putnam (Lucy), Tim Putnam and Matt Putnam; daughter Patty Zimmerman (Chris); grandchildren Geoffrey Chatham, Brad Putnam, Brandon Putnam, Jenna Thatcher, Brittany Putnam, Cody Putnam, Jacob Putnam and Noah Zimmerman and five great-grandchildren, three nephews and four nieces. Ron was predecesed by his parents and younger sister Barbara Putnam Johnson. He loved spending time with his friends, restoring and working on cars, and also enjoyed watching NASCAR and other forms of motorsports.
