Rosalie Ellen Olney, 87, passed away peacefully in her home in Orland, California, on October 7, 2026.

Born on April 18, 1939, in Bloomingdale, Illinois, to Anne Jones.

Rosalie leaves behind 6 children, Reggie E. Olney, Richard Olney (Debbie), Rosemarie Olney, Roxanne Hendry (Mike), Roberta Olney, and Rebecca Olney; 17 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and her sister, Shirley Boracci.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Reggie F. Olney; her son, Ronald F. Olney; her parents, John and Anne Karamatic; her brother, Leonard Jones; her sister, Patricia Walsh; and her daughter-in-law, Jetonne Olney.

She grew up in Orland, CA, and graduated from Orland High School in 1957. On June 30 of that year, she married her high school sweetheart, Reggie F. Olney. Rosalie raised seven children while serving for 50 years as both a bookkeeper and truck driver for the family’s farm labor contracting business.

She enjoyed traveling with her husband, children, and grandchildren; gathering for monthly dinners; family campouts; and celebrating Christmas, her favorite holiday, when her children returned home. She also delighted in sewing, yarn crafts, art, bingo, and every opportunity to spend time with those she loved.

Rosalie will be laid to rest beside her husband in a private ceremony on October 30, 2026.
