Rosemary Smith November 10, 1921 – February 1, 2021

Rosemary Smith was born on November 10, 1921 in Fort Ransom, ND to Nora & Emil Hovgaard. She fell asleep in Jesus arms on February 1, 2021, at the age of 99 years.

Rosemary was raised in Fort Ransom, ND, along with her eight brothers & sisters. After graduation & passing State Boards in both North & South Dakota, Rosemary opened Rosemary's Beauty Salon in Beach, ND. Rosemary and Homer Smith were married in 1945 following Homer's return from WW War II. They resided in Beach, ND before moving to Artois, CA in 1949. In 1953 Home & Rosemary established their home in Orland, CA raising their family & being very active in the Lutheran Church & community. Together, they enjoyed square dancing; camping; hunting & fishing ; pinochle card games and being with family & friends.

Rosemary never missed one of her grandchildren's ball games; musical or dance recitals; or any activity they were involved in.

Her husband, Homer died in 1981. Rosemary is survived by two children, Kelly Smith and Candy Thurman (Don Thurman). Six Grandchildren – Chad Thurman (Becca Thurman) and Cody Thurman. Sarah Paul (Randall Paul); Amy Simmons (Abe Simmons); Bryan Smith (Megan Smith); and Corey Wade Smith. Ten Great Grandchildren – Ella Thurman; Colson Thurman; Lily Thurman; Callan Thurman; Haillie Paul; Luke Paul; Mallory Smith; Gunner Smith; Marshall Smith; and Isaac Simmons.

Burial service will be at Oddfellows Cemetery on Monday, February 8, 2021 at 10am.

"Grandma Rosemary" is dearly missed by her family. Her memories will be cherished & she will never be gone from our hearts.
