Samantha Chancellor-Arendell, 49, passed away December 4, 2023, in Chico, after a battle with cancer.
Samantha was born in Hot Springs Arkansas to Jerry and Gloria Chancellor. She has two older brothers, Mike and Jerry Jr.
Samantha attended schools in Hot Springs and graduated from Lake Hamilton High in 1990.
From 2000 to 2002 Samantha lived in Sacramento and worked at Health Net of California as a Membership and Accounting Representative.
From 2002 to 2004 she was a Caregiver in Sacramento.
In 2013 Samantha made a career change and went to the Institute of Technology, in Redding, and pursued her desire to become a nurse. She graduated in April 2016 with License Vocational Nursing license. After graduating she went to work at Twin Oaks Post-Acute Rehab in Chico. In 2018 she transferred to Arbor Post-Acute in Chico. From there she applied for and was hired at a position at Butte Home health and Hospice as an Intake Coordinator. She loved helping people in geriatric healthcare.
Samantha and Ray met through EHarmony in 2005. They dated and eventually got married in 2016 in Orland.
Samantha loved sitting on the couch, cuddled up with her kids, dogs, and cats, watching movies and true crime drama shows. She also enjoyed going on weekend outings with her family to local Airbnb's. One of her favorite places to go was a cabin in Dunsmuir. She also loved all country music. She would sing along to hundreds of songs. Her favorite Country Artist was Jelly Roll. She and her family got to see him recently in concert in the Bay Area. She liked to knit blankets for friends and family. Samantha also loved the great outdoors, as long as she could look at it from inside a window. She had a sarcastic side to her too. It would take some people by surprise. But then she smiled and you knew she was joking. She loved all her puppies and kitties.
Samantha is survived by her husband Ray, Son Rayson, Daughter Elaynna, all in Orland, her Mother Gloria, in Hot Springs, Father-In-Law and Mother-In-Law John and Joyce Trammel, In Orland and numerous Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.
Samantha was preceded in death by her Father Jerry Chancellor Sr. and Grandmother Elaine Latham.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date for Family and Friends.
In lieu of Flowers a donation can be made to the American Cancer Society, Butte Home Health and Hospice, or Mental Health, In Samantha's name.
Arrangements are held under the direction of Sweet-Olsen Family Mortuary.
