Obituary

Seesouk Thakhamphou was born on June 15, 1962 in Kvaeng Louang Namtha, Laos. Seesouk was the son of Kyang Raw and Lieng Sen. He was the 2nd oldest of eleven siblings. He has one surviving brother, named San.

During his early years living in Laos he worked on his family's rice farm before joining the Royal Lao Army. He served 12 years in the military protecting his country and family. He was honored to have served under the command of General Khong Le. He met his current wife, Seenuan, in a refugee camp in Thailand. From there they immigrated to America and reunited with his immediate family in December of 1990 with his wife and two oldest children.

Some of Seesouk's proudest achievements here in the U.S. were becoming a U.S. citizen in 2013 and building his own house with his family in 2003 in Orland, CA. He was a dedicated employee of Rumiano Cheese factory in Willows, CA for over 10 years and took pride in being a Cheese Specialist.

Seesouk's favorite hobbies include fishing for crappie fish, growing his own vegetables, cooking traditional Lao dishes, singing Lao karaoke and loved his daughter Phan's cooking.

He was a proud parent to a Chico State graduate, Boua and enjoyed hearing about Amy's growth in her career. Most importantly, he loved spending quality time with his granddaughter, Jocelyn.

Seesouk will always be remembered by his family and friends as a humble, kind person and always supportive to the Khmu and Lao community. His last word of wisdom to his son, Keo, was "Love Family."

He is survived by: his wife Seenuan, his oldest son, Keo and his daughters, Phan, Boua, Amy, and grandchildren Jocelyn and Lawrence.

Seesouk will be laid to rest at Orland Cemetery District.
