Steven Howard Volz, 71, of Orland was born October 12, 1949 in Wisconsin Rapids, WI to Wilbur and Kathleen Volz. He passed away on July 30, 2021 in Woodland, CA.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, September 4th at 11:00 am at the Glenn County Fairgrounds cafeteria. A potluck luncheon will follow.

Steve attended school in Wisconsin Rapids until he moved to Orland in 1965 where he has resided ever since. After graduation from Orland High School in 1967 he served in the U.S. Navy Reserves. He joined the Orland Volunteer Fire Department on August 9, 1971 and was an active fireman for 26 years until his retirement July 7, 1997.

He worked for Pargas as a serviceman for 17 years. Steve then joined his dad in his Volz Radiator business taking ownership when his dad retired in 1994. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed camping for many years with family and friends.

He married Adele Etcheverry on January 3, 1971 and they had a daughter together, Jean Catherine. He married Sandra Steuben on July 10, 1976 and they had two daughters, Laura Lizbeth and Stephanie Kathleen.

Survivors include his daughters Jean Volz of Modesto, CA, Laura Volz of Willows, Stephanie (Luke) Andrews of Orland; grandchildren Brooke Volz, Tony Hamrick Jr, Dylan Hamrick, Levi Andrews, and Lexi Andrews; great-grandson Kayden Chong; sisters Susan (Jim) Long and Patricia Ball, both of Orland and Robert (Shirley) Volz of Willows; several aunts and uncles and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur and Kathleen Volz; and sister Robyn Rae Volz.
