Violet Naomi Halsey, 95, of Orland, passed away on Tuesday, May 31st 2022.

She was born on November 5, 1926 in Burley, Idaho to Heber and Reeo Field. Violet was the oldest of six children.

On September 28, 1942 she married Frank Halsey. They were lifelong Orland residents, where together they raised five children: Dennis (Linda), Gaye DeVor, Kathi Schmitke (Jere), Steven (Mardi), and Sharon Brown (Gary). She was adored by her eleven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Violet was preceded in death by her husband Frank.

Besides raising her children, Violet sold Avon for 50 years. In her lifetime she had many hobbies, but two that gave her the most joy were gardening and sewing quilts, including the ones she made for all of her children, grandchildren, and that she created for the foster children program. She especially loved being able to spend time with the "the girls" from the quilt club.

A special thank you goes out to her neighbors, Pat Everett and Rick Davis who were always looking out for her.

Violet will be dearly missed by everyone who knew and loved her. Graveside services are planned for Tuesday, June 7th 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Odd Fellows Cemetery, County Road P in Orland. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Orland Free Library.
