Wayne Merlin Gunter ,83, of Hamilton City passed away on October 1st, 2025.
Wayne was born on November 6th, 1941, in Corning, California to his father Wallace and mother Delsa Gunter.
Wayne graduated from Hamilton City High School where he played baseball and basketball. He went on to receive a bachelor's in law enforcement. Wayne was a veteran and served in the Army as a parachutist and MP. His other occupations included: carpenter, Fish & Game Department, owner of a gas station in Hamilton City, welfare investigator in Red Bluff, a policeman and also owned his own private investor firm.
Wayne continued his passion for baseball, playing on a senior team.
His other hobbies included: hunting and fishing. He was also known to ride a Harely Davidson motorcycle.
He was married to Ruth Gunter and had a daughter, Valerie Gunter and a stepson, Wayne has two stepdaughters, Deborah Harrington, and Rebecka Brown. Wayne was presently married to Karyn Lynn Gunter.
Arrangements are held under the direction of Sweet-Olsen Family Mortuary.
