William Thomas
Haener
Apr 2, 1941 — Jan 2, 2020
On January 2nd at 4pm, we lost a true racing legend, my Father and one of the best racecar drivers/driving Instructor to put 4 wheels around a track. He ran a hell of an enduro in this race we call life and never did he lose his competitive edge. Racing was his passion, and he didn't let cancer stop or slow him down. When it came to getting strapped in a car and ripping around the asphalt, hitting his line with precision, he performed with flawless accuracy. He has been battling cancer for the last 6 yrs. He had a full life I'd say - Husband to my late mother, Claudette Haener, Father to my brother, Bill Watters, and me (Erick Haener), Grandfather to 3 amazing grandchildren- Jack ,Kai and Dax. His race here has come to its end, but he received the best trophy from this race and that is to be rejoined with his loving wife, Claudette, where she is probably helping strap him in so he can be heel'n'toe'in and short shifting through turns of his next big race...
